Parkway Baptist WMU & "I Promise" Quilt

A few weeks ago, we were blessed to have the Woman's Missionary Union group from Parkway Baptist Church out on our campus. This group of women came to cut and preassemble items for a Mother's Day craft our students later completed. The students made a paper teacup and attached a teabag for their moms to enjoy - "Relax and have a cup of tea on me."

Another craft the students did that week was their "I Promise" quilt. Each student wrote a promise next to their handprint which was then put together to resemble a quilt. Their promises included getting good grades, being nice and helping their mom, and taking care of their siblings. The quilt was displayed in the hall of our Educational building on our main campus.

Proverbs 31:25-30 - She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. She speaks with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. She watches over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of idleness. Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also, and he praises her: “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them all.” Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who fears the LORD is to be praised.
